What make the Tomahawk Series so unique are the blanks themselves.
Instead of using conventional glass fiber film, which consists of
vertical and horizontal fiber mesh, we have eliminated unecessary horizontal fibers and reinforced the vertical ones instead. This gives the
Tomahawk two distinct characteristics: unadulterated bending and
unbelievable lightness unlike any other glass rod. Even though the Tomahawk
Series has received a complete overhaul for 2005, the basic concept has not
changed. But, if the original Tomahawk series rods are the WW II fighter
planes, then the new GT3 series rods are much more sophisticated modern
planes. If you know nothing about the original Tomahawk rods, you may not
realize that they are related. The new GT3 Series is completely armed. With
180 degree spiral guide system, new TX fiber blanks, new reel seat
with exposed blank, heavy duty Titanium-IC guides, and finally, ITO Head
Locking System (PAT), the new GT3 series elevates Tomahawk rods a few steps
closer to its unknown potential.

F3-63 GT3
Deimos (2009 Model)
Regular, ¼-3/4 oz., 7-20 lbs.

This rod is for
those of you who prefer up-tempo cranking. As always,
the shorter rods tend to have advantage over the longer
ones in terms of handling and integrity. Because of this
Deimos may be a more enjoyable rod than the longer ones,
which, although more dynamic, are more punishing as
well. For lighter, fast moving bait such as spinnerbait,
crankbait, buzzbait, soft stickbait and top water bait.
F4-66 GT3 Phobos (2009 Model)
Regular, 3/8-1 oz., 8-22 lbs.

Based on the
F4-67TX, Phobos is designed to take care of the middle
range demand. That means this rod can handle pretty much
from light to heavier bait as well. If you have our
graphite models of similar force, try throwing same bait
with them and see how different your casting/retrieving/hooksetting
experiences are. They will reveal the depth and the
width of your fishing experience potential to you.
F4-610 GT3 Shiryu 610 (2009 Model)
Regular, 3/8-1 oz., 8-22 lbs.

Shiryu means
‘purple dragon’ in Japanese, and depicted in the
traditional oriental fashion on the exposed section of
the grip. If the central focus of the original Tomahawk
rods was its ‘give’, the new GT3’s focus may be
castability and sensitivity. The 180 degree spiral guide
system help improve both objectives and the ITO Head
Locking System and the new reel seat design definitely
increases sensitivity a notch or two. Visually, Shiryu
610 is the most eclectic looking of all GT3 series rods.

F4-70 GT3 Shiryu 70 (2009 Model)
Regular, 3/8-1 oz., 8-22 lbs.

Based on 7 foot
Tomahawk, this is the flagship model of the new GT3
Tomahawk series. Undoubtedly F4-70TX was the most
popular Tomahawk among the American anglers including
our pro team members, Randy Blaukat and Aaron Martens.
Shiryu 70 will not only allow you to cast a super long
cast, but also bait actions will be more dynamic as
well.

New for 2009, the GTZ replaces the previous GTC series. The GTZ blanks are made of a new high-strength fiber material called Zylon, which is often compared to Kevlar, and used in such applications ranging from bulletproof vests and Formula One cars to martian rovers developed by NASA. The new GTZ series is more promising especially if you are after a cranking rod with better sensitivity.
